Information on clip on hair extensions?
my father dislikes my constant asking about recieving clip on hair extensions because, he thinks if messes the hair up, or i'll lose them. I've heard only real extensions tend to mess up the hair, so i want clip on extensions, what are some good ways to inform my father that they do not mess up the hair?
also, i used my friend's clip on extensions and ended up losing them, apparentley i didnt put them in right. why did they fall out, and how do i put them in?Information on clip on hair extensions?

I have purchased from several companies on the internet. www.glamourextensions.com is by far the best hair I have found for the money. They carry the individual clip ins and also have a One Piece human hair clip in that I just purchased and love love love...it makes me look like a Victoria Secret supermodel!! You have to be careful out there and find a good company to work with as the companies I purchased my hair from before glamour extensions did not have near the quality and not to mention enough hair for my entire head.Are clip on hair extensions worth it?? Well if u have light colored hair u can use hot topic's coloring... and i have done pink streaks in my hair w/o bleaching and i have very very dark hair and it was only $12.00 it was called colour rays by loreal. it wrked awesome and since u r wanted clip ons or extenstions (temporary) u cud also try color pulse by loreal which cums out in about 8 washes ..srry i dont kno much about cheap clip ons or extentions but these are sum other options the only place i kno of that might have clipons is claires or icing (similar to claires but more hair supplies. hope this helps!

I bought some beautiful REAL clip on hair extensions from Sally's. Here is my problem...the extensions are VERY straight and my hair is thick %26amp; has ends that naturally want to flip out. Is it easy to put on clip on hair extensions?
I was scared to try them at first, so I went for the Jessica Simpson synthetic brand because they were supposed to be easy to use. Found them on Ebay for a great price. When they arrived, I just followed the instructions, and it was much easier than I thought. I would highly recommend trying this brand first because it has a great instruction page with pictures to show you how to place the clips.
You just comb the top part of your hair forward above your ears. Then put the middle clip in first, then the sides and then the bottom two clips. Your loose hair is tucked perfectly away.
I found it best to comb a little extra hair forward to cover the back well. Just check the back in the mirror before going out. I have used them several times and never had a problem. I even went in swimming with my hair up in a pony tail. No one ever noticed I had extensions in.Is it easy to put on clip on hair extensions?
easy as pie, once you get the hang of it.
use a pointed come to seperate your hair and hold the hair up to your hair first to make sure you want to place it there. snap the middle one in the center, firmly against your head, then the rest.
you can also tease then hairspray the pieces you are clipping onto so they will hold better (unecessary unles syou are going out clubbin or something).

hair extensions clips are very easy to put on. i have to say they are quite fun to put in. its just like putting on a normal hair clip only with the hair attached to it. but before putting on its always go dbrush it first and then clip it on. and wen clipping it dont clip it in obvious places of ur hair like the front. its usually clipped somewhere in the black of ur hair to make it blend it with the rest of ur hair. but clip it in less obvious places in ur hair.

use a pointed come to seperate your hair and hold the hair up to your hair first to make sure you want to place it there. snap the middle one in the center, firmly against your head, then the rest.
you can also tease then hairspray the pieces you are clipping onto so they will hold better (unecessary unles syou are going out clubbin or something).

I had to get a semi-short haircut due to a bad straightener that melted and broke a lot of my hair off and I'm going on a cruise in 2 weeks, so I'm going to my hairdresser (new one none the less - I've done my homework on hairdressers since my latest mishaps) tomorrow and order the Jessica Simpson ones to wear some on the cruise and for special events. She's going to trim them up in layers for me to match my hair. I'm excited because I've been so depressed about this short choppy haircut!!

depends on what kind you get. one time i bought a cheap one and the one side just would not stay in place, the clip was broken. but then i bought the jessica simpson ones and never had a problem with them. I have the clip in 100% human hair extensions and I haven't worn them in a while because they got very tangled with wear. I am wondering if anyone has any techniques on how to detangle the hair as it is much harder to do then your own hair...

Wet them , put loads of conditoner on and leave it on for a while then get a comb and brush them through, this will be easy thanks to the conditioner. rinsethoroughly and dry(they made need straightening afterwards.) on ebay they are cheaper - the synthetic are about 50.00 and the human hair i got mine for 238.00, but you can probably get it cheaper ... %26amp; it's smarater to gt the human hair if you're thinking about using it for more than a month because the synthetic turn into a tangled mess!
local beauty college - u can get them put in too
[one in IL is TrendSetters through paul mitchell]

OK. I have really short hair (just below my ears) - I'm trying to grow it out and wondering if there's any way to make clip on hair extensions looks real? Well, the standard length for hair extensions to work is about 5 inches so your hair is long enough. And hair extensions are designed for short hair. Im not sure how long your hair pieces are but I would say a length of clip ins that would be sutable for your hair would be no longer than 12-14''. You can watch tutorials on youtube on how to put the clip in's in your hair but basically you will need 3 pieces for the back and 2 on each side (around your temple area above the ear.) I make my own clip ins and I do 3 five inch pieces for the back of my head and 2 two inch pieces for each side. And remember, don't put extensions higher than the crown of your head. Good luck :)

I know you said you wanted a store location, but if you can't find one sultryhair.com sells clip in hair extensions. They are very good quality and last a long time.
So, when you get clip on hair extensions at a hair salon, do you just buy them and do it yourself or do they?

That won't be the same quality hair you buy at the store or salon, and it probably won't match your own hair. I guarantee you.
You can learn to do it yourself, by experimenting which style would look good with your hair, or have a beauty salon do it for you, plus a tip, but you'll have to go there every time you wear it.

You do it yourself because you take them out at night (not supposed to sleep in them) and put them in temporarily when you want longer hair.
They are very easy to use, literally just section off hair and clip extentions in various places around your head. I would rrecommend having at least three strands. Two shorter that go at the back of your head and one longer that you put all the way round the top of your head.

If you get real human hair ones you can wash them, blow dry them, straighten them, curl them and basically style them like you would your own hair. i know the hadeeth forbidding it but it talks about real hair is not allowed, and if its on permanently... the clip in extensions aren't permanent and i wouldn't wear them all the time as it is... just some events.. is it still haram?
please provide authentic proofs thx

For the Bangs part, you could sew hair onto an 'invisible comb' (usually used to hold your hair back) and put it where you want your bangs to start. As for the rest, I'm sure you could copy the ones that have short hair all the way around and make it look great! Just have a good look at one, then go to a dollar store in the hair accessories isle, and look around for something you could sew hair onto. Be creative! Have fun! Good Luck!!!!

It's the best because all you do is brush a section of your real hair (front hair) over the extensions and call it a day. Try the clip ins and see what you think.

The clips can pull of your natural hair and hurt and the fake hair can be quite heavy at times, also its quite hard finding the correct colour.
So if your looking for a long term thing i would go to your local salon and ask around for weaved in hair extensions or glued in but they can be pricey. Or if its just sorta a for fun thing and you want it to be on the cheap i would opt for clip ins :)

if they are put in correctly they wont fall off its ok to keep them in but they should be taken out everyonce in a while
i have them and they dont take that long to put in u just clip ur hair up and tease the section and clip them in and ur not supposed to i guess but i sleep in them but take them out to wash my hair its fine

My daughter is 12. I let her do two blonde highlights. She thought this was amazing. My sister is a cosmetologist, which is good because I know she wouldn't do anything to damage her hair. Whatever it was isn't permanant. Girls at this age love beauty, it's inevitable. It is a personal mom decision, but as long as it doesn't harm her hair, why not? Summer is coming too, so she could try it w/o worrying about what the kids at school think. I give my kids a little every now and then. Doing these special things they will never forget is priceless. To the other posts- its not always about self asteem ';girls just wanna have fun'; .

There is still that worry with all the magazines and t.v showing a fake beauty of women to such young girls and also adults. I think, if you know your daughter can see that natural is BEAUTIFUL! Then clip in extensions can be great fun...

Ask yourself and her why she wants it, her hair is undoubibly fine, she most likely is trying to fit in with a peer group's ideals of ';pretty'; as she likely isn't at the ';boys'; yet.
It starts bad habits letting girls get into vanity products young, glad my mother didn't encourage me ^^ and it's bad for health, damages your natural beauty =) (not so much hair extentions)
Plus saves sooo much money for the ipod she expects for her birthday ;P

If she wants to wear them because she likes long hair then why not? It's really just a matter of image so if you don't want your 12 year old walking around with fake hair then tell her no. the ones sold at hot topic are super easy to use. i have blonde hair and i got them in platinum blonde and the pale pink. they come attached to little comb like clips that you snap onto a chunk of your hair. they're very light and are comfortable to wear as long as you clip them in a good spot. they're worth the price, just be gentle when brushing them. it says you can use hot irons on them but i haven't tried it.Clip on hair extensions/highlights at hot topic?
I have been wearing clip in extensions for a out 4 years now. if you go into a specialist shop, one that sells hair extensions, wigs, specialist hair products and ask for hair extension clips,they're usually rectangular, they are avaliable in their. i have never seen them in normal shops.
you sew them onto the strip of hair, depending on if you want one clip n a smaller strip or three clips on a bigger strip that goes round your head, i find smaller strips are better because you can put them in and out easier.
then, just push and clip them into your hair like you would any other hair slide, making sure its dead secure.
you could also try going on youtube, they probably have a tutorial somewere! x
