Is it awkward or uncomfortable to wear clip-on hair extensions?

My once thick hair has thinned out considerably due to chemo, and I'm considering getting hair extensions to help fill it out. I don't know if I'd wear them every day or just for formals and special events. Is it awkward to wear them? Would I need to bring them to my hair stylist and have her dye my hair and the extensions to make them match? I have a medium golden-blond color, so I have found some pieces that are similar but not an exact match. Is it awkward or uncomfortable to wear clip-on hair extensions?
If done correctly, hair extensions shouldn't be uncomfortable. Of course, you can wear them every day!

Here's some youtube videos how to put in them:

I have had experience with clip ins and they're not bad :) They didn't bother me at all. They add amazing body and length! You should get HUMAN HAIR extensions. You can curl them, straighten them, dye them, etc. And they feel natural. You can always go to your hairstylist and have her dye them to your hair color. Or you can ask her what color and brand of hair dye for you to buy so you can dye them yourself.

Sally's Beauty Supply has human hair extensions for a good price:

Hope all of this helps. And good luck with your chemo. Is it awkward or uncomfortable to wear clip-on hair extensions?
I've worn clip on extensions off and on for about three years and never had a problem with them. You can buy them a most beauty supply stores, but I would suggest real hair clip on extensions , not synthetic bec that way if you cant find the exact color to match your hair you can color it or your stylist can do it for you and if you change your hair color you can color the extensions also . there are also you tube tutorials that show you how to style them for example if you want to wear them in a ponytail you can, hope that helps
It isn't awkward to wear them, it'll be different at first of course because you won't be used to wearing them but you won't have to worry about them falling out or anything if you clip them in properly. You section your hair and then tease a little at the root and then clip the extensions in (the teasing with allow the extension to have something to grip onto therefore will stay in better though teasing isn't needed... it will help) They're great to wear when you want to change up your look for special events like you mentioned =)

You could actually go to the salon and they'll likely sell clip in extensions and they can find a colour that will match your hair perfectly. If your set on the pieces you've already found yet aren't an exact match, you could either take the extensions to your hairdressers and get them to dye your own hair to match the extensions OR get them to dye the extensions if you don't want to dye the extensions yourself. Hope this helps!
its all personal opinion i guess, but i wear clip ins alot and they are not uncomfortable at all!

i usually just wear them on weekends, and i can just put them in myself easily.

if you cant find pieces that match your colour, you can dye them yourself or get a hairdresser too, it depends really. my hair is brown without highlights, so i just dye mine myself at home!

i find it better to use the long sheets of hair with 3 or 4 clips attached rather than the little pieces with one clip

hope it helps :)
My friend has let me wear her extensions before and I completely forgot I was wearing them. Not sure about the dying though, although I don't see why not.
